In systems using reverse cycle, the accumulator must be
installed between the reversing valve and the compressor.
Proper inlet (from evaporator) and outlet (to compressor)
must be observed.
The accumulator must be installed upright.
Proper sizing of an accumulator may not necessarily result
in the accumulator connections matching the suction line
site. This new technology must replace the dangerous and
outmoded practice of matching the accumulator connections
to the suction line site.
The accumulator should not be installed in a by-pass line
or in suction lines that experience other than total refriger
refrigerant flow.
